Nicholas J. Yphantides MD, MPH (pronounced ee-fan-tee-dees) Noted author (“My Big Fat Greek Diet”), consultant, speaker, healthcare executive and family practice physician: Dr. Nick is an advocate for those in his community who need it the most. For eight years, Dr. Nick served as medical director of the largest network of Community Health Centers in San Diego and is proud of the fact that he has spent his entire medical career serving those in his community who need it the most. Nearly seven years ago, Dr. Nick temporarily retired from all of his job commitments to address his own personal health needs. Over the course of the year 2001 he took a radical sabbatical and drove 38,000 miles, visiting every state in America, and in the process achieved an enduring transformation of his personal health by losing 270 pounds! He did so without surgery and through a massive modification of his personal lifestyle and daily habits. Marjorie Ohrnstein Nutritionist, Chef, Educator: Chef Marjorie Ohrnstein has been working as a chef, food stylist, and culinary educator for 25 years and has won over 40 culinary awards from major food companies. MEG WERNER MORETA, MS, RD, CDE Dietitian, Diabetes Educator: Meg Moreta has been working in the field of diabetes since 1992. She trained at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. She initially worked at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center diabetes Outpatient Treatment and Education Center and then moved to the USC Westside Center for Diabetes. Meg attempts to help patients learn to eat in a healthy, realistic fashion, that fits with each individual's lifestyle and food preferences. Her areas of clinical interest are: carbohydrate counting, exercise physiology and behavioral change. |

Edward Jackowski, Ph.D. Fitness Innovator, Author, Motivational Speaker: Edward Jackowski, Ph.D. Edward holds his B.B.A. from Baruch Business College, his Masters and Doctorate in Behavioral Management from International University for Graduate Studies. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), International Dance and Exercise Association (IDEA) and is certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). In 1985, he parlayed his dream of creating an innovative fitness company into reality, and established the most successful motivational and one-on-one fitness company in the country; EXUDE which offers its training services throughout New York City, the Tri-State and Southern California. One of the leading fitness authors for Simon & Schuster, Edward has six books now available. Under contract to write "how to" educational Sports-Specific & Fitness books to be packaged with exercise DVD's, his second project with Barnes & Noble Publishing entitled Fit to a Tee (June 2007), demonstrates how to increase distance and improve all aspects of your golf game through proper fitness. Other writing credits include being appointed the first-ever fitness advisor and columnist for AARP's Modern Maturity and he's been a Sports/Fitness columnist for The New York Daily News website, East Hampton and Southampton Independent Newspaper, WebMD and ediets.com. He's appeared on World News Tonight, CNN, Fox News Channel, ET and Extra, and has been interviewed by Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer and Pat Robertson. Edward has worked with a number of physically challenged children and adults who suffer from MS, MD, Lupus and Spinal Injuries. Edward is very involved with fitness and children - most notably with his Exude Kids "Fit for Life" program and curriculum on physical education for elementary schools that has been implemented over the years in the New York City Public School system and London, England. Starting in 2008, Fit for Life Fitness Camps for Youths (ages 6-12) will kick-off in New York City, Fairfield County, Connecticut and Southern California.
